Student and Teacher Friendly Ebook

EZ Geology books make learning fun and easy for your students.

The science textbooks in this series are for older students getting ready for college or students who want to learn more about volcanoes.

Students often work through their textbooks without additional help from their teachers. This saves you a lot of time during your busy day.

Why the Volcanoes textbook is easy to use

Each chapter contains written information, a quiz, and an experiment about volcanoes. The glossary contains definitions of unfamiliar science words, and the Answer Key is for students to check to see if their answers to the quizzes are correct.

The written information in each chapter does not overwhelm students like larger books that cover multiple topics in each chapter.

The Volcanoes ebook is divided into 16 chapters. It will take only a few minutes of your time to read the chapter summary, look at the pictures, and determine the materials needed to do the experiment in each chapter.

Sample chapters

  • Hawaiian Islands are a chain of volcanic islands that are part of the Hawaiian-Emperor seamount chain in the Pacific Ocean.
  • Plate Tectonics and Volcanoes explains how volcanoes form over hot spots and in subduction zones.
  • Types of Volcanoes explains how and why stratovolcanoes, shield volcanoes, cinder cones, and lava domes form on land and in the oceans.

Volcanoes on the Ring of Fire

The Ring of Fire was coined by geologists because of the large number of volcanoes around the Pacific Ocean. There are over 500 volcanoes that have erupted in historic time.

The two largest eruptions of the 20th century were on the Ring of Fire. There are 1,500 volcanoes that could erupt in the future on the Ring of Fire.

Sample experiments

  • Pyroclastic Flow Eruption
  • Seafloor Magnetism
  • Mount Saint Helens Flip Book

Your students can look over the experiments in each chapter and gather the materials they will need. They will find most of the materials listed in each experiment around your home or at a nearby store.
